LONDON. A new kit for testing paternity will go on sale in Boots high street pharmacy stores in Britain.The Assuredna test, which is already available in more than 350 independent pharmacies, gives results in one to five days.For the test, samples of cells are collected from the mouth of the father, child and mother.The cotton swabs are then placed in colour-coded envelopes and posted to the manufacturer, Anglia DNA, for analysis.Both mother and father must sign forms giving their consent for the test and include proof of identity.The test is available to anyone aged 16 or over and costs 29.99 ($A48.16) to buy, plus a 129 lab fee.
